In a future medieval world, man has repeated the same exact mistakes of the past and created a new, superstitious and crushing moral structure to their society. Worst of all deviances now is to consume, or even touch, the ‘Chisa’ flower, which they are convinced contains the blood of the devil. A crime is worthy of banishment from the village. Most prone to this deviance are children who, due to their natural openness to new experiences, are more likely to fall into temptation. Thus a group of rejected children have learned to live in isolation in the mountains, learning to use plants, animals and the elements to survive, and also discovering the Chisa contains what most people fear: a vision of the truth. They are learning so much that some villagers even accuse these children of witchcraft.
